The png file was useful because it allowed the images to have no back ground which made it easy to manipulate only the image and no back ground.
This is an image i animated for the turret to turn on top of the tank.
I created this i photo shop and made all the area's separate and saved them as png's.
I put 3 key frames in one on the left one in the middle and one at the right.

an image idraw in photo shop imported to flash and added other images,planes . and explosions via flash tools.

involving many key frames which made the explosions look gradual. and more effective and ral in a why.
